A Health Research Strategy for New Zealand

The first part of this presentation will review the health research funding landscape post the refresh of the Health Research Council. An update on HRC direction and approach will be provided with a pointer towards funding opportunities for clinical researchers.

The second part of the presentation will outline the consultation process to date for the development of NZ’s first health research strategy.  This is an important development for all New Zealanders - particularly those who produce or use research because all government investment in, and approaches to, health research will need to reflect this strategy. This part of the session will be largely interactive eliciting views that you might wish to see reflected in a New Zealand Health Research Strategy.
