Abstract

Surfing the Wave: Does PEP Help?

Taranaki is renowned for its waves and legendary surfing. The persistent pain service in the area is however unlikely to be unique in facing what can feel like a tidal wave of referrals, with the potential to flatten a small team with finite resources. The presentation will discuss our team’s response to managing what is a worldwide predicament in healthcare today. The structure of our service will be described with particular reference to PEP - the pain education programme we have established.
