Spirituality and Pain

There is much discussion regarding pain and spirituality in the literature and indeed at previous New Zealand Pain Society scientific meetings models incorporating spirituality have been shared. The bench to bedside divide remains vast. To move beyond discourse may be challenging within many healthcare environments. This presentation will demonstrate the journey of the MidCentral Health Spirituality Advisory Group (SAG) and summarise work undertaken over the last two years to understand barriers and enhance enablers of integrating spirituality as a fundamental component of health care within our organisation.
