Growth Session 3 parallel sessions

  1. Act Your Success
Introduces the concept of “Act Your Success” to illustrate how professionals can maximize their communication skills to enable them to achieve (career) transformation.  Based around a week long program of Presentation & Writing skills that culminates in an Acting workshop introducing Improvisation techniques;  the outcome is that each participant can “Act Their Success” in every step of their career and each professional interaction.  This lively interactive and fun session will give you tools to bring straight back to your student body and corporate talents.
  2. The 2 Hour Job Search
Led by Steve Dalton (MBA), the author of ‘The 2-Hour Job Search’ and Senior Associate Director at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, the session explores step-by-step, time-limited instructions for the most frustrating part of finding work - getting a first interview. This science-based process splits the job search into manageable pieces, each requiring at most 15 minutes, ideal for our busy MBA’s! About 20 (mostly US) MBA programs now teach the process, and it is required curriculum for all Duke MBAs.
  3. The Leadership Journey - Pitfalls & Pathways
This session will be run by Gail DePriest, Faculty & Director Leadership Development on the Clemson MBA and Sean McCann, MD of People Based Solutions. Sean aims to explore how the traits and qualities that deliver success throughout an executive career, can, when out of control or misapplied, be the very traits and qualities that derail a hitherto promising career. Gail will develop on this thinking and tell us all how she and a colleague have developed a programme for the Clemson MBA which communicates the role of cognitive neuroscience in leadership, allowing students to gain insights about their own leadership abilities with an emphasis on soft skill development
