Professional Standards and the Medical Educator 
 
This exciting symposium will highlight important innovations and challenges in Assessment in Medical Education. This interactive session will involve expert keynote speakers, small group work and large group discussions.  Professor Dame Lesley Southgate, a Founder of the Academy will lead the session with a thought provoking keynote presentation on the Purpose and Content of Assessment Programmes. 
 
This will be followed by Professor Sean Hilton and Professor Judy McKimm leading on the Assessment of Professionalism and the Assessment of Leadership. Finally, Dr Ian Curran will highlight the importance of the AoME Professional Standards in Assessment of Medical Educators We welcome all healthcare professionals at all levels to join this AoME session which will be thought provoking and very inspiring. The aspiration is that colleagues will learn of new assessments methods to utilise in their own practice. Most importantly, the symposium hopes to stimulate debate and pave the way for future research in assessment. The symposium will close with a fascinating insight in the future role of the  Academy  of  Medical Educators .
