Welcome Reception - Dovecot Studios, Infirmary Street, Edinburgh

Opened in summer 2008, Dovecot Studios provides Edinburgh with a dynamic new arts centre to showcase contemporary tapestry, alongside high quality art and design from Scotland  and beyond.

Originally built in 1885 and designed by City Architect Robert Morham, this building occupied the former Infirmary Street Baths. The building underwent a dramatic renovation and is now home to Dovecot Studios, a specialist tapestry weaving studio with its own viewing and exhibition balcony as well as two contemporary gallery spaces.

Dovecot Studios was originally founded in 1912 by the Marquess of Bute. The Studios became recognised as a key player in the renaissance of tapestry in the 20th Century. Dovecot was re-established in 2001 and continues to work to commission, producing tapestry and tufted rugs for private and public collectors.

The Welcome Reception will be held within Dovecot Studios where canapés and drinks will be served.
