Scott Cowan has over 20 years of experience in Emergency Services as a Paramedic, Firefighter, Emergency Management Officer and currently works as a Fire Captain in charge of Technical Rescue with the Calgary Fire Department (CFD). He was previously the Training Coordinator for the CFD and the Task Force Leader for one of Canada's National USAR Disaster Response Teams, Canada Task Force 2. Cowan has a Master's Degree in Leadership with a focus on Building Firefighter Resiliency to Critical Incident Stress and a certificate in Critical Incident Stress Management from the University of Maryland. He currently sits on the Mental Health Advisory Committee for the Calgary Fire Department and helped to create the 'Resilient Responder' program.
