In 2018, the City of Toronto experienced two mass-casualty incidents that tested the resilience of both the City and each of the emergency responders. Fire Chief Matthew Pegg will provide and overview of the Toronto Fire Services response to these two mass-casualty incidents and will share outcomes with fellow Fire Chiefs and first responders. Chief Pegg will explain how TFS has enhanced procedures as a result of these incidents and will also explain how the City of Toronto responded to and healed from these tragic events. Finally, we will discuss how these incidents impact our people and what Fire Chiefs need to know before they find themselves in a situation like this.
