Title: Basic Measurement Theory
Code: M101
Overview: Theory of measuring natural gas (rotary, turbine, diaphragm).
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this session, learners will be able to:
  1. Differentiate between positive and inferential meters.
  2. Identify the following meters: Diaphragm, Rotary, Turbine, and Orifice.
  3. Describe the operational theory of the following meters: Diaphragm, Rotary, Turbine, and Orifice.
  4. State the typical application for each type of meter.
  5. Identify common volume correcting instruments.
    a) Describe how they work.
    b) Describe the volume correcting process for pressure, temperature or super-compressibility.
  6. Describe the typical failures for each type of meter.
  7. Demonstrate routine maintenance for each type of meter
