Title: Structuring Shared Drives for RIM Compliance

Duration: 1 Day of Education (8:30 am - 4:30 pm)

Description: This workshop will provide practical hands-on experience on structuring a shared drive for RIM compliance. Topics will include the functional classification of records, legal compliance, security, privacy, improved records search capability, reduction of records duplication, planning for records disposition, and user training. A review of standards and best practices will support implementation governance. Attendees will receive training materials that will support them in implementing their Structured Shared Drive projects.

Facilitator Biographies:

Stuart Rennie JD, MLIS, BA (Hons.): Lawyer and Records Management Consultant, Stuart Rennie Consulting, has a Vancouver-based boutique law practice where he specializes in records management, privacy and freedom of information, law reform, public policy and information governance law. As a lawyer, Stuart drafts bylaws, policies, records classification plan business and legal retentions, best practices, Privacy Impact Assessments and provincial legislation. He is the co-author, with Sandie Bradley, CRM, FAI, of the Local Government Management Association of British Columbia Records Management Manual For Local Government In British Columbia (fifth edition 2017), which is a best practice standard used by over 300 British Columbia municipalities. Stuart also serves as a member of ARMA International’s Content Editorial Board.

Bobbi Bishop: Records Management Consultant and Project Manager, Stuart Rennie Consulting is a records management consultant and project manager. She is a member of ARMA International. She works with and municipalities and First Nations in BC to create phased records management programs, and provides coaching and training.
