It is critical in delivering quality, sustainable and efficient services to the community. \n\n\n\n\nPractical day to day local asset management knowledge can inform Council Policy and be used in the development of AM Plans.. It enables transparent management of the assets, affords greater accountability, cost savings and results in a more satisfied community. AM Plans and practices provides engineering and asset managers the ammunition they need to successfully lobby for increased funding for assets. \n\n\n\n\n\nThis course uses real-life case studies at Council’s to demonstrate where AM has led to real improvements. It also serves to equip you with the right tools and mechanisms to take AM from the coal face to the Council.Chambers. \n\n\n\nINVITATION TO ATTEND\n\nThis course would be best suited to Works Officers and technical and operational staff, Finance staff and Councillors. To keep the interest of the audience during the training course, it is proposed that the course involve only the minimum of “dry” AM theory, but instead focus on case studies and involve a variety of practical activities during the day.\n\n\n\n\nThe seminar is designed specifically for managers and staff for\nwhom asset management is a new process.\n\n\n\nParticipants are asked to submit a case study that they would like to discuss – good, bad, ugly or that they just can’t understand \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPRESENTER DETAILS\n\nNicola Daaboul started her career during a time of rapid growth and change with Eacham Shire Council before it became the Tablelands Regional Council in the 2008 Queensland Local Government Reform. At that time the Tablelands Regional Council (TRC) was made up of 4 amalgamated Councils, all of which had its own methodologies, practices, processes and systems for managing their infrastructure assets and delivering services to the community. Her role was to develop and implement the asset management framework that would enable the new council to meet the service needs and requirements of its community. This included a series of educational workshops delivered to key staff members and Councillors about the importance of asset management and sustainable practices. \n\n\n\n\nNicola then made the move interstate. In New South Wales her work at Cessnock City Council began by building and developing the asset management systems and process from the ground up. \n\n\n\n\n\nMore recently her work at Bankstown City Council has seen the development and implementation of an end-to-end Asset Management System. In addition to her achievements at Bankstown Nicola has recently published papers and presented at National & International engineering conferences about leading excellence and innovation in this field. \n\n\n\n\n\nNicola has Bachelor of Science, Post Graduate Diploma Infrastructure Engineering, and a Masters Infrastructure Engineering and Management. She has been nominated for the 2016 Ministers Award for Woman in Local Government and is the recent recipient of the David Abbott Award. \n\n\n\n\n\nShe’s enthusiastic & passionate about the application of sustainable asset management practices within local government that achieve informed decisions to better serve our environment and the community, now and in the future.\n\n\n\n\nDATES: 18/03/2019 to 18/03/2019\n\n\n\nLOCATION: Metro Hotel Sydney Marlow Central, 431-439 Pitt Street, Sydney (Click to view map)\n\n\n\nTIMES: Please register at the Workshop by 8.15am.
