The Summer Health Institute @ ASU will provide 24 students who have completed their junior year of high school the opportunity to live on the ASU Downtown campus for a week while experiencing a variety of interprofessional health related activities. This will include 3 hours of daily simulation at Creighton University School of Medicine at Dignity Health’s St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center (suturing, IV’s, intubation, scrubbing, etc), interactions with members of the health care team, some simulation at the ASU Simulation Center, and tours of health care facilities located within the health corridor of Arizona.
The 2019 Summer Health Institute will have two camps this summer. Camp 1 will be held from Sunday, July 7 through Saturday, July 13. Camp 2 will be held from Sunday, July 14throughSaturday, July 20. Attendees can choose which camp they would like to apply to, but are expected to attend the entire length of the camp.The Summer Health Institute is at no cost to participants. Housing, food, materials, and instruction are free. Participants will need to travel to and from the camp at their own expense.
The 2019 Summer Health Institute application will close on May 29, 2019 and all supplemental materials should be received by May 29, 2019. Transcripts postmarked by May 29, 2019 will be accepted.
