The latest FP7 call on Smart Systems that has been launched in July 2012, with a deadline for submissions in January 2013, is strongly focused on uptake and integration of technologies. This call represents a big challenge but also offers a great opportunity to set up new market-driven projects with relevant business case.

Petra Weiler joined VDI/VDE-IT in January 2009. She managed the Office of EPoSS, the European Technology Platform on Smart Systems Integration, and is also involved in the FP7 Coordination Action IRISS, which is coordinated by VDI/VDE-IT. Petra has a degree in technical translation from the University of Hildesheim. Her areas of expertise are electrical and mechanical engineering, computer-aided translation, and terminology data bases.

Artiza Elosegui is a Telecommunications Engineer. She works at ZABALA INNOVATION CONSULTING, S.A. as expert in European Programmes in the fields of RTDi projects and technology diffusion projects, and also in telecommunications and information technologies. She has experience in European projects management. In the COWIN project she is responsible for the support to projects requiring further development steps to reach commercial exploitation of research results.


Since 2003, Géraldine Andrieux-Gustin has supported many companies in their growth strategy and has been involved in several successful financial transactions in the MEMS and microfluidics industry. She earned an MBA from EM Lyon Business School.
