“Artful” Interviews: The science and art
behind
letting the other person have it your way.
Charlie Price served as FBI Agent for almost three
decades and develop a national reputation for conducting “artful" interviews. Charlie will describe the interviewing strategy and tactics he used to obtain
signed-statement confessions from a diverse range of targets, including
confessions that were instrumental in convicting two sitting members of
Congress, terrorists, corporate executives, and a spy. A CPA and veteran of
numerous successful global and domestic white-collar investigations, Charlie
will explain how those same tactics can be used during in private-sector
corporate investigations and audits.

Charlie Price serves as Managing
Director in MorganFranklin Consulting’s Corporate Investigations & Dispute
Solutions practice where he helps global and domestic corporate clients (and
counsel) navigate, investigate, contain, and resolve time-sensitive corporate
investigative matters. Charlie joined
MorganFranklin after retiring from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where
he served as a Special Agent for more than 28 years.
While at the FBI, Charlie was
the lead investigator on numerous high-profile national and international
investigations, and he developed a national reputation as an expert in the “art
of interviewing.” Charlie also served as
an Assault Team Leader on the FBI’s Washington Field Office SWAT team, and he
was a firearms instructor for more than 20 years. Charlie deployed to both Iraq and
Afghanistan, where he provided support to U.S. military units on classified
operations.
Charlie holds a Bachelor of
Business Administration degree from the College of William & Mary, and he
is a licensed CPA in Virginia. Prior to joining the FBI, he served as a CPA at
Arthur Andersen & Co., performing financial statement audits in the
financial services industry.
