John Brady,
Protem Partners
February is now UConn Alumni Career month! The UConn New Haven Alumni Network invites alumni, friends and family to their first annual Elevate event on February 13th. Come learn and network with us as John Brady from Protem Partners talks all about work, life and balancing the two

Main Topic: The myth of work-life balance and the choices we make instead.

Target Audience: Professionals and leaders of people seeking to gain more control over intrusions that cause an "always on" expectation.

Description: For the foreseeable future, clean and universal boundaries between our professional and private time suggested by “work-life balance” ideals are unlikely, mainly because of our reliance on electronic forms of communication. Still, there is more we can do as leaders and individual contributors to encourage and even protect ourselves from the seemingly endless interruptions that cause incremental stress than most people realize.

Primary Learning Objectives:
* Group/team instruments and resources to help manage volume, frequency and efficiency of electronic communication
* Individual methods of organizing and structuring mobile, laptop/desktop and app settings to minimize interruption and intrusion
* Tools you can use to track and reallocate your time spent on subsets of electronic tasks

Cost is $5 per person and includes light food and one drink ticket.
