The Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) has made the unfortunate but necessary decision to cancel the 33rd World Electric Symposium and Exposition (EVS33) due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The health and safety of our participants is paramount, and the global pandemic continues to pose an unacceptable risk to everyone involved. While we are making the only appropriate choice, we recognize the inconvenience posed by the event cancellation.
As host and organizer of EVS33, EDTA is tremendously grateful to our event partners at Forth and the World Electric Vehicle Association (WEVA), as well as the many stakeholders from around the world, who have dedicated countless hours to showcase the world of electric mobility on June 14 – 17 in Portland, Oregon. EVS33 was on track to be a record-breaking and vibrant gathering due to the sponsors, exhibitors and presenters who have provided invaluable contributions, as well as to the registrants from around the world who had planned to participate in June.
For our registrants and supporters, we will connect directly with you over the next few days to provide details on cancellation specific to your planned participation and answer questions regarding next steps. These are extraordinary times and EDTA asks for your patience as we communicate the necessary processes and dedicate vital attention to the individual needs of all stakeholders.
As the world adjusts to the new normal in business meetings and networking, EDTA is committed to preserving the diverse connections we have made through EVS33. Our team is developing a virtual opportunity in the fall of 2020 to bring together representatives from across the global electric drive value chain.
Please accept our best wishes for your health, safety and well-being during these unprecedented times. Going forward, EDTA will keep you well-informed and we are excited about the work we will do together to advance electric mobility.
Sincerely, Genevieve Cullen President World Electric Vehicle Association (WEVA) and Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA)
