The WORLD NUCLEAR FUEL CYCLE 2018 is being held in Madrid, Spain 17-19 April. It's objective is to provide an international forum for the discussion of issues affecting the commercial nuclear fuel cycle, with a focus on enhancing the economic competitiveness of the nuclear fuel cycle and nuclear energy. Seven years after the Fukushima accident, the nuclear industry continues to adjust to shifts in the political, regulatory, and economic environment. Nearly every major nuclear power country faces headwinds that continue to delay growth or cut capacity as a result of shifts in government policy, low natural gas prices, and subsidized intermittent renewables. At the same time, China and Russia are continuing to aggressively construct and pursue nuclear growth. As a result of the shift in the nuclear plant outlook, nuclear fuel markets are significantly changing due to large overproduction across all fuel cycle stages.

This year the conference will include the below session topics:

  • The Global Picture for Nuclear Energy
  • Uranium Supply Outlook
  • Fuel Supply and Reactor Economics
  • Uranium Market Analysis
  • Fuel Fabrication and Fuel Cycle Innovation
  • Spent Fuel, Transportation, and the Back End
Who will benefit most from attending?
  • utility fuel managers
  • utility executives who manage production economics and risks
  • uranium producers, converters, enrichers and fabricators
  • nuclear fuel brokers, traders and consultants
  • transporters of nuclear materials
  • nuclear energy equipment and services suppliers
  • energy economists and analysts for financial, and investment institutions
  • government policymakers and regulators
