General Dynamics Mission Systems – Canada – Small and Medium Enterprise/Business Initiative 2017 The Calgary GDMS-C facility is focused on tactical communications and mobile networks, additionally we are a Prime Systems Integrator (PSI), developer of military networking products, and we execute several large scale support contracts for the Canadian Armed Forces and British Army. As part of our Internal Research and Development (IRAD) program, we are currently focusing on our future initiatives with the creation of our Future Tactical Network (FTN). With our IRAD project in mind, and as part of our GDMS-C Small and Medium Enterprise/Business (SME/B) engagement strategy, it our intention to run a small competition for local SME/B technologies to be integrated into our IRAD efforts. The aim is to spark engagement and bring SME/B talent to the forefront with the help of a prime OEM (GDMS-C). Additionally, the SME/B will be potentially exposed to new customers, and we will look to engage their technology in our current and future efforts. Through this competition one or more local SME/B’s will be selected based on simple RFP to provide existing products ready for integration. The selected SME/B will be placed under sub-contract with some limited funding, and proceed with working to integrate their respective products with our team. The current schedule for this initiative is as follows: a. No later than 22 September 2017 – register for the Industry Briefing Event. b. 26 September 2017 – Industry Briefing Event and release of the RFP c. 6 October 2017 – RFP proposal deadline. d. 16 October 2017 – selected SME/B notified e. 23 October – 30 November 2017: Integration with GDMS-C IRAD project. f. Week of 4 December 2017: GDMS-C IRAD demonstration. For more information contact Sebastien Leclerc, Sebastien.Leclerc@gd-ms.ca Registration needs to be received no later than 22 September 2017.
