STATE TEAM FAQS

What is a State Team?

State Teams work collaboratively to develop a State Action Plan for improving education and workforce development. These plans must be realistic and achievable, and will be revisited in future conferences to evaluate progress. State Team members are key stakeholders in the state, including (but not limited to) leaders from chambers of commerce, workforce boards, universities, community colleges, governor's staff, education committee chairs, industry associations, school districts, foundations, nonprofits, etc. State Teams coordinate prior to the Conference, develop their State Action Plans during the Conference, and maintain momentum after the Conference ends by working together to implement action items.

I am a State Team member and plan to register during Early Bird Registration. Do I still receive the Early Bird discount?

Only one discount can be credited to your registration fee. State Team members do not receive
an additional discount for registering early, and should register using the code provided to them by their State Team Leader.

How do I join a State Team?

Please contact Bill Symonds at william.symonds@asu.edu for more information.

Pre-Conference Workshop: 12 Tested Strategies for Developing a Career Pathways System ($75)
To develop a local or regional Pathways System, leaders from education, business and community-based organizations come together to explore and build common vision and action strategies for career-connected learning.  During this special pre-conference workshop, Hans Meeder from the National Center for College and Career Transitions will help you understand the essential tools and processes to get a pathways initiative started or re-booted.

During the workshop, Mr. Meeder will introduce the key components of a pathways system and walk through the 12-step process utilized in NC3T’s newly published Pathways System Decision Guide.  The Decision Guide addresses steps to:

·       Form a community-wide leadership structure,

·       Create shared vision, mission and goals,

·       Develop a series of high-quality pathway programs of study,

·       Engage the business community, and

·       Develop an actionable phase-by-phase plan for implementation.
