3rd Annual TVN Conference

POSTER ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

 Abstract submission is now closed.

Canada’s population is aging quickly. Today, many Canadians are living longer and healthier into their later years. But as the number of seniors grows, so does the number of frail elderly people with more complex health challenges and care needs. TVN is Canada’s exclusive network for the frail elderly, funded by the Government of Canada through the Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE).

TVN’s annual conference provides opportunities to those concerned with improving health care for the frail elderly to share knowledge, best practices and policy, and at the same time, network with others working in the field to collaborate and build relationships. Conference attendees will be researchers, knowledge users, health care professionals and service providers, policy makers, industry, patients and families and the public.

Categories:
Abstracts are invited in three categories:

TVN HQP
-- limited to TVN-funded Interdisciplinary Fellows and Summer Students, and trainees on TVN-funded projects.
Students  -- other students
General    -- all other applicants

Abstracts must be submitted using TVN's online abstract management system.

Successful abstracts will be invited to proceed with a poster.

Topics:
Abstracts must address improving health care for the frail elderly, and must fit within one of TVN’s four research themes:
         - Improvement of End-of Life (EOL)/Advance Care Planning (ACP) Trajectories of Care
         Improvement of Acute/Critical Care
       - Optimization of Community & Residential Care
         - Optimization of Transitions of Care.

Abstracts submitted from TVN HQP must address the personal research project funded (for Fellows and Summer Students), or the TVN-funded research project the HQP is part of.

Submission deadline:
The deadline for applications and abstracts has been extended to Friday, September 11, 2015 at 5 p.m. EST. All submissions will be reviewed.

Submitters will be sent the acceptance notices and final details concerning the poster competition by September 16, 2015 (subject to change).

Abstract Submission:
All abstracts must be original work, and all authors must have participated sufficiently in developing the abstract in order to take public responsibility for the content.
