The Nuage VNS platform provides a powerful and flexible SD-WAN virtualization and automation solution; however, this power and flexibility introduces new operational challenges which VNS providers must address. This tutorial presents practical techniques, strategies and examples for monitoring and troubleshooting Nuage VNS (management, control and data plane ) in a production environment. This tutorial will cover using SNMP, Syslog, Splunk©, REST API, Monit, CLI and Linux tools to efficiently monitor the heath of VNS platform components and services and to root cause any incident. The discussion will focus on the available interfaces of each component, how they interact, how they are configured, what type of information and metrics can be extracted and what are the relevant sources and events types for troubleshooting analysis.
