2:00-2:50pm Panel 1: Sustainability and governance

This panel will consider how companies and industries are responding to climate change and sustainability challenges.  How can policy makers, business and investors address the problems of governability and accountability? Topics for discussion may include the role of activist investors, the new stewardship debate, and divestment vs engagement.

This panel will examine the development of fiduciary rules and disclosure requirements and the impact of these on risk management practices. It will consider how guidance is changing in terms of applying enterprise risk management (ERM) to sustainability related risks. We will explore how changes in governance affect risk identification, assessment, communication and risk reporting.

How can good governance be better reflected in regulation to ensure better alignment and complementary frameworks?
