Overview of the Innovative Learning Conference
Every two years, educators and innovators from around the world convene at the Nueva School for the Innovative Learning Conference (ILC) to discuss and share ideas about many of the most challenging, critical issues facing education.
The conference is organized by The Nueva School and features lively discussion among preeminent speakers, scholars, educators, parents, community members, and students. Past topic strands have included:
- Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment: Common Core and 21st Century Learning
- Creativity and Innovation
- Design Thinking, Design Engineering, and Entrepreneurship
- Equity in Education
- Globalization and Cultural Understanding
- Integrated Technology
- Teaching Critical Thinking and Reasoning
- Meeting the Needs of Gifted and Talented Learners
- Neuroscience
- Social-Emotional Learning, Empathy, and Mindfulness
- Sustainability and Wellness for Our Shared Future

On Thursday, educators will have the option to attend
sessions at either the Hillsborough or San Mateo campuses. If you are interested in attending sessions about high school education or administration and leadership, please check the San Mateo box on the agenda page when you register.
Attendees may only attend one campus on Thursday, so please make sure you have considered both options.
Bookstore
The bookstore will be open on both days of the conference and will offer books by presenters as well as other related materials.
There is no photography or videography allowed during the presentations.
