Continuing Education FAQs

  1. When is NSAC 2016?
    August 31- September 2, 2016 in Washington, DC.


  2. Who is responsible for providing CE's at NSAC?
    Family Violence & Sexual Assault Institute and the Institute on Violence, Abuse, & Trauma (IVAT/FVSAI).


  3. Who authorizes IVAT/FVSAI to issue CE's?
    IVAT/FVSAI is an approved provider of the American Psychological Association (APA), which is also recognized by several other professional accrediting bodies.


  4. Which professional disciplines are covered at this conference?
    Psychologists, social workers, counselors, marriage & family therapists, attorneys, and nurses.


  5. Will my state licensing board automatically accent these CE's?
    It is ultimately the responsibility of each person to verify the continuing education guidelines for their own state and professional regulating body. For instance, Pennsylvania has indicated that it will accept all social work CE's approved by the APA, of which IVAT/FVSAI is an approved provider.


  6. What is the cost of CE's at NSAC?
    $45 per person in advance during the online conference registration process
    $55 on site


  7. How many CE's will be available during the conference?
    16 hours


  8. If I register for CE's in advance and then do not attend the conference, will I be able to get a refund for the CE's?
    CE fees are non-refundable; however, paid CE's are transferable to another conference attendee.


  9. When will I receive my certificates?
    After the conference, upon completion of the online conference evaluation form.


  10. What happens if I lose my original certificate?
    IVAT/FVSAI will provide continued follow up with attendees requiring duplicate CE documentation (attendee may incur a $25 fee per additional/duplicate certificate/documentation).


  11. Can conference participants receive a certificate of attendance if they are not requesting CE's?
    Yes, each participant who completes the electronic evaluation form following the conference will receive a certificate of attendance whether or not they have requested continuing education credits. If a participant requests a duplicate copy after the process is closed, or elects not to complete the online evaluation, there may be a charge of $25.

  12. Can participants not receiving CE's receive a detailed Session Documentation Certificate to verify training hours for other disciplines or topics?
    Yes, IVAT/FVSAI also offers the option to attendees to list their sessions/workshops attended (along with the time attended for each) on a Session Documentation Certificate. This certificate is available at $55 per attendee certificate. This certificate is not an accreditation certificate for continuing education. The attendee is required to sign in/out and document the same as for CE credits.
