Community Health Workers Tackling Chronic Diseases: Success Factors and Challenges
Chronic diseases impact entire communities and nations, costing millions of dollars in lost productivity and care, especially in developing countries. To respond to this global challenge, the UnitedHealth and National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) Collaborating Centers of Excellence conduct research to assess the benefits of engaging Community Health Workers (CHWs) to implement a range of interventions to prevent and control chronic diseases like heart and lung diseases, and diabetes. Join leaders of the Centers of Excellence, the Open University (UK), and C3 Collaborating for Health as they discuss the successes and challenges around implementing CHW interventions in Ethiopia, India, Mexico, Central America, South Africa, and the United States. There will be time for questions and answers, and a certificate of attendance will be available!
