The Second National LGBTI Ageing and Aged Care Conference
 
From Aspirations to Outcomes

Presentations are invited around six conference themes relating to the Principles outlined in the National LGBTI Ageing and Aged Care Strategy. The themes focus on action that makes a difference and privilege the voices of older LGBTI people.
Priority will be given to presentations that reflect on approaches to change, outcomes for older LGBTI people and further recommendations.

Narratives and visibility
How are older LGBTI people consulted about their own ageing and aged care needs and experiences?

Evidence
How has research on older LGBTI people’s experiences and needs been utilised to make a difference to policy, practice and older LGBTI people’s lives?

Reconsidering diversity

What actions have been taken to: recognise differences between older LGBTI people; acknowledge the many aspects of diversity; and address the nexus between LGBTI inclusive services and workforce diversity?

Community connections
How have older LGBTI people, including those living on the margins, been supported and what more could be done?

Capacity building
What approaches have been successfully utilised to engage stakeholders in addressing the goals of the Strategy?

Empowerment
How have older LGBTI people and their families and carers been provided with information on their rights?


Presentation submissions should be less than 250 words.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS - Friday 31st July 2015

During the application process, submitters will be asked to select either an oral presentation or a poster presentation.
