Andrew Angeli

Andrew is a Senior Director responsible for overseeing and shaping the real estate research capabilities of the UK business both in terms of quantitative forecasts and quantitative analysis.  In doing so he and the two person team that he manages produce top-down regional economic studies utilized for fund strategy and bottom-up market reviews for asset selection and acquisition support. He is actively involved in pitching for new business and presenting at client board meetings and maintains media relations through a combination of industry conferences and press interviews. He sits on the UK Investment Committee and the Separate Accounts Oversight Committee. Prior to his current role, he worked in a pan-European research function.  Since joining the firm in 2007, Andrew has worked in the firm’s Los Angeles and Paris offices. He holds a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is an active member in the Investment Property Forum and the Urban Land Institute.
 
Alice Breheny

With over 18 years’ experience in property research, Alice is Co-Head of the Global Real Estate Research & Strategy team. She manages a team of seven analysts devoted to researching the direct property market in Europe, the US and Asia.
Alice works alongside Austin Mitchell, Global Head of Business Development, jointly running the Research & Development (R&D) function, which ensures our research is applied and remains at the forefront of product development. The R&D team identifies global, structural trends and finds appropriate opportunities for real estate investors.
Alice is a member of the Property Investment Committee and the Global Product Committee, ensuring the research feeds into every stage of the investment process and product development. She is also a member of the Investment Property Forum, the Society of Property Researchers, INREV and the International Council of Shopping Centres.
 
Meka Brunel

Meka Brunel has been Executive Vice President, Europe, since 2009. As such, she is responsible for all of Ivanhoé Cambridge’s real estate operations in the European market, with assets totalling Cdn $7 billion.
Ms. Brunel has more than 30 years of experience in the real estate industry. Over the course of her career, she has served in a variety of positions, accumulating solid expertise in all facets of the industry. Ms. Brunel held senior management positions at Simco (now Gecina), where she created and developed several new divisions (construction, property management, asset management, strategic development). She also sat on Gecina’s Executive Committee and she is still a member of its Board of directors. In 2006, she was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Eurosic, remaining there until 2009, when she was named Managing Director, Europe, of SITQ.
Ms. Brunel is also active in many professional and social organizations. She led the “Valeur Verte” (Green Value) workshop at France’s Grenelle de l'Environnement conference, served as President of the ORIE (Observatoire régional de l’immobilier d’entreprise en Ile-de-France); a Director at the Université de Cergy Pontoise, a Director at RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) France and a Member of the RICS Governing Council. She now is a Director at Crédit Foncier de France, President of the France Green Building Council, a Director at the Fédération des Sociétés Immobilières et Foncières (FSIF), and a Director at the EPRA (European Platform of Regulatory Authorities). She is also a Director at the European Bahai Business Forum (EBBF). In February 2013, Ms. Brunel was voted “Professional of the Year” at the Pierres d’Or Awards in France.

Ms. Brunel is a Civil Engineer and has an Executive MBA from HEC Paris. She also holds the designation of Chartered Surveyor.

 
Nathalie Charles

Nathalie is currently Head of Asset Management and Transactions for Southern Europe including France, Spain and Italy. Her responsibilities include: overseeing all aspects of managing AXA Real Estate’s assets in the region, including acquisitions, disposals, lettings and development. She is also “Pan-European Development Leader” for AXA Real Estate, responsible for co-ordinating development activities across Europe at a strategic level, and providing investment opportunities for clients who seek to develop properties either in a high return IRR strategy, or for long-term investment.
Nathalie joined AXA Real Estate in 2013. Previously, she was Managing Director of Corporate Real Estate at EDF Group (“EDF”). During her five years at EDF, Nathalie led the asset, property and facility management activities across EDF and its subsidiaries in France, with a portfolio of 4.5 million sqm. Prior to EDF, Nathalie spent 12 years at the Unibail-Rodamco Group. During her tenure she held various positions overseeing office, retail and large development projects in the Paris region. Nathalie Charles joined the Compagnie Bancaire in 1987, and held various positions at the company. She also worked as manager for the Crédit National between 1992 and 1995.
Nathalie has 27 years of real estate industry experience. She graduated from the French École Polytechnique in 1987.
 
Piet Eichholtz

Maastricht University

Piet Eichholtz is Professor of Real Estate and Finance and chair of the Finance Department at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. He teaches courses in Finance and in Real Estate Finance and Investments. His practical experience includes positions at the ABP and at NIB Capital, and nonexecutive board memberships with IPD, Oppenheim Immobilien, NSI, and Redevco.

Eichholtz has also earned a solid reputation as an entrepreneur. In 1996, he started GPR, a firm specialized in international property company indices, which was sold in 2001. In 2004 he became co-founder of Finance Ideas, a financial consultancy company. In 2011, he was one of the founders of GRESB, the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark. He is currently a member of the Investment Committee of Loyalis and of the Housing Scenario Group of Bouwfonds Development.

Eichholtz has provided extensive services to public society, mainly through board memberships of industry organizations in the property sector but also as an advisor to various government agencies. In early 2004, for example, he was a special property advisor to the UN Good Offices Mission on Cyprus. Eichholtz’ academic work has resulted in a great number of publications, internationally and also in the Netherlands, and he is a frequent speaker at industry and academic conferences. Most of his work regards real estate markets, with a focus on international investment and portfolio management, performance measurement, housing markets, and sustainability.

 
Jim Fetgatter

James A. Fetgatter is Chief Executive of the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE), a position he has held since 1992. AFIRE is a not-for-profit association formed in 1988 whose members are foreign institutions who have a common interest in international real estate investing. AFIRE members have approximately $1.0 trillion in real estate investments worldwide. He has guided the growth of the association from a small group of Dutch pension funds to an organization of over 190 investors from 21 countries.
Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive, Mr. Fetgatter spent 15 years in various aspects of the real estate industry. His last two positions prior to joining AFIRE were with Dutch and UK investment and development companies.

Mr. Fetgatter served as an officer in the United States Navy and holds a Master in Business Administration from Harvard University and a BS from Oklahoma State University.

 
Richard Gwilliam

Richard is responsible for the overall direction of property research within M&G Real Estate, including the analysis of the UK and global property markets, the formation of in-house views, the determination of strategy for the funds and bespoke in-depth research projects. Richard has 11 years of analysis and research experience within real estate investment; prior to joining M&G Real Estate in 2006, he spent three years at IPD. Richard has a BSc (Hons) in Economics from the University of Nottingham and holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC). He is a member of the committee, and honorary treasurer, of the Society of Property Researchers (SPR).
 
Dietrich Heidtmann

Dietrich Heidtmann joined GTIS as a Managing Director in September 2014 and opened the Paris office. He is responsible for the firm’s international capital formation activities. Mr. Heidtmann has 26 years of capital markets experience of which 12 years are in the real estate private capital markets area. Prior to joining GTIS he worked at AXA Real Estate as Global Head of Investor Relations & Capital Markets where he also served on the firm’s Executive Committee. Previously he spent nearly 20 years at Morgan Stanley within the capital markets and real estate investment banking area - most recently as Managing Director, Head of Real Estate Private Capital Markets, EMEA & Asia Pacific.
Mr. Heidtmann is a frequent panelist at international real estate industry events. He graduated from University of Mannheim in 1988 and holds an MBA (Diplomkaufmann).

 
Frank Jensen
Lord Mayor of the City of Copenhagen

Frank Jensen is a Danish politician and businessman and has been in his current role as Lord Mayor of Copenhagen since 2010. He entered politics in 1987 as a member of parliament for the Social Democratic Party, a seat he held until 2007. During his career in parliament he held several ministerial positions. From 2007 until 2009 Jensen was the managing director for Telecom Scandinavia and later Danske Advokater, before being elected Lord Mayor of Copenhagen. Jensen has an MSc in Economics from the University of Aalborg. He also holds several honorary posts including member of the board of the National Bank of Denmark and other boardroom posts as well as being the Deputy Leader of the Social Democrats Denmark.

 
Sony Kapoor

Sony Kapoor is an influential economist, financial sector expert and development practitioner. As Director of the international think tank Re-Define, Sony advises many multilateral organisations, long-term investors, regulators, central banks, European and emerging economies on economic and financial policy.


He has a multidisciplinary role at the London School of Economics (LSE) as a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Development and Government Departments and as a Strategy Adviser to its Systemic Risk Centre. He is also a Special Adviser to the UN Environment Programme Inquiry on green finance and a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on the Future of Asset Management and Insurance.


Mr Kapoor was elected the first Chairman of the Stakeholder Group at the European Banking Authority and spent several years as an expert adviser to the European Commission and the Parliament on financial sector reform and the Eurocrisis. He has also served on expert groups at the OECD, has been a visiting scholar at the IMF and has spent two years as Strategy Adviser to the Norwegian government.

Sony has been an adviser to the INET council on the Eurocrisis alongside George Soros and Adam Posen, and a CER commissioner on the Single Market alongside Martin Wolf. He also served on the Financial Times panel to select the European Finance Minister of the year and is an expert adviser to the IMF on Housing Finance.


Mr Kapoor has worked in commercial banking, done leveraged finance and traded derivatives for various financial firms in India, the UK and the US. He has also worked extensively on development finance and financial sector reform. He is often invited to write for publications such as the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal and the Economist.

Sony's substantial contribution to improving public policy has been widely recognised; he has been elected a Young European Leader by Europanova and Friends of Europe, a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts for his accomplishments. 
 He is an alumnus of the LSE, the University of Delhi and the Indian Institute of Technology.
 
Nils Kok

Nils Kok is the CEO and co-founder of GRESB, an industry-driven organization committed to assessing the sustainability performance of real estate portfolios (public, private and direct) around the globe. GRESB has rated more than 1,000 REITs and funds globally on behalf of more than 45 institutional investors that on aggregate represent some USD6 trillion.
He is a frequent speaker at industry and academic conferences, and actively shares his expertise through workshops with investment practitioners and policy makers. Presentations at recent meetings include: United Nations PRI Annual Meetings, MIPIM and ULI meetings; workshops for among others APG Investments; the NBER Summer Institute and AREUEA; and seminars at the Harvard Business School, Yale, Ecole Polytechnique, and Cambridge University.
Nils also holds a position as an associate professor in Finance and Real Estate at Maastricht University in the Netherlands and is an Affiliated Faculty at the Berkeley Program on Housing and Urban Policy at University of California at Berkley. His work has appeared in leading academic journals as well as in financial and economics media, such as the Washington Post, the Australian Financial Review, Das Handelsblatt, Le Monde and Het Financieele Dagblad, and in industry publications, such as Bloomberg and Pensions & Investments.

 
Lisa Lafave

HOOPP

Lisa Lafave is Senior Portfolio Manager, Real Estate for the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP).  HOOPP is the principal pension provider to healthcare sector employees in Ontario and has approximately 286,000 active members and pensioners and total assets of over $60 billion. She is also Vice-President of HOOPP Realty Inc., the Plan’s principal real estate holding company.
In these capacities, she and her colleagues are responsible for the acquisition, disposition, portfolio management and selected asset management of all direct and indirect real estate investments made by HOOPP. The portfolio comprises office, industrial, retail and multi-residential properties in all major Canadian markets. It also has an active development programme comprising industrial, retail and office properties across Canada. The Fund has also increased its exposure to non-domestic markets through direct and indirect investments in the UK, Europe and the USA.
Lisa has also spearheaded and implemented HOOPP’s Environmental Management Policy and established the portfolio carbon baseline in 2008. As a speaker at many “green” investment conferences, she illustrates how fiduciary responsibility can be compatible with sustainability objectives.

 

 
Richard Lowe

Richard Lowe was appointed editor of IP Real Estate in July 2011, one of the leading publications for institutional investment in the global property markets.  He has contributed to IP Real Estate for more than six years, also as deputy editor and as a freelance journalist.

IP Real Estate combines global real estate market reporting with an in-depth knowledge of the pension fund industry, and Richard Lowe has experience in covering both areas. He has written for numerous real estate and pension titles, and won Pensions Journalist of the Year (trade publications) at the State Street Institutional Press Awards in 2010. 

He started his career in journalism at the Bristol Evening Post newspaper in 2001, before moving into financial journalism.  Richard Lowe has a degree in history from the University of the West of England, and lives in London.

Christopher McCormick, European Investment Director, has over 25 years experience in direct real estate investment and opened the Gaw Capital office (London) in December 2013, following seven years at Aviva Investors as a Fund Manager in Singapore and the UK.
Chris is responsible for the European portfolio, which is now over £1.5 billion, following recent acquisitions, which include Tower Place, Milton Gate and the Lloyd’s building. 


 
Allan Mikkelsen

Allan Mikkelsen is a senior director with ATP Real Estate, the real estate investment arm of the Danish pension fund ATP. Allan is involved with both evaluating new investments and monitoring the existing portfolio.
Allan joined ATP Real Estate in 2003. Prior to joining ATP, Allan worked for three years as a CFO within the real estate construction industry and prior to that with international accounting firms for a combined period of ten years.
Allan has a Master of Science in Business Economics and Auditing from Aarhus University, School of Business and Social Sciences and has qualified as a State Authorized Public Accountant.

Raimund Paetzmann

Raimund Paetzmann, Director Real Estate heads EMEA Real Estate team and leads all expansion projects within Amazon’s Fulfillment, Transportation and Customer Service Network. Raimund is responsible for driving a Pan European approach, to ensure the Development is aligned and integrated with the Amazon.com global Initiatives. He is involved in the strategic network planning and he and his teams coordinates the search for all new EMEA location (Fulfillment Centers, transportation hubs and Customer Service Centers) and oversees all necessary negotiations with developers and Governmental bodies.
Raimund Paetzmann rejoined Amazon EU in 2005 (he was already in charge for Amazon.de between 1999 and 2002) and was a significant contributor to the design of the new generation of EU Fulfillment Centers. So far he has been in charge for searching and securing 28 FC’s totaling in more than 2,000,000 m² Warehouse space in Europe. 1,600,000 m² out of that were built to suit agreements. He and his team were also responsible for 6 Customer Service building projects cross Europe and Morocco.
Prior to his work at Amazon EU, Paetzmann gained 2 ½ years experience as a Regional Manager for South Germany with Difa Deutsche Immobilien Funds AG (Union Investment). Paetzmann also brings an additional 5 years experience as a Managing Director of a middle sized project developer and property manager in Munich.

 
Torben Möger Pedersen

Torben Möger Pedersen is CEO of PensionDanmark, a not-for-profit labour market pension fund established in 1993. Möger Pedersen is a member of Paradigm Change Capital Partners advisory board and the investment committee of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners. He is a co-founder and investment committee member of the newly established Danish Climate Investment Fund. Möger Pedersen is a member of the World Economic Forum’s steering committee of the Mainstreaming Impact Investing Initiative and is newly appointed member of the World Economic Forum network Global Agenda Council on Climate Change. Furthermore in February 2014 he was appointed as a member of the Private Sector Advisory Group of the UN’s Green Climate Fund (GCF). Möger Pedersen holds a MSc in Economics from the University of Copenhagen (1984) and has attended executive education at INSEAD Fontainebleau, INSEAD Singapore, Babson College and Wharton Business School.

Prior to his latest venture, Russell worked as a management consultant in China, Europe, India, and the US. His clients include Barclays, HP, Lexus, LVMH, Shell, Tesco, and Unilever. His work included introducing luxury brands to hip-hop, bringing Chinese clean-tech to Europe, and valuing economic, environmental, and social impact for private equity firms.
Russell holds an MBA at the University of Oxford and studied sustainable economic development with ACCORD in India. He mentors MBAs at Saïd Business School and social innovators at On Purpose.

Hamel has a degree in Economics from Cambridge University and an MBA from INSEAD.  He studied real estate at Wharton Business School and earned the Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ) from the Securities and Investment Institute and the Ecole Superieur de Commerce.

 
Werner Sohier

Werner Sohier has 32 years of experience in the real estate industry. He started his career his career as a real estate developer and has also worked as a real estate consultant. For three years Mr. Sohier was involved in the acquisition and portfolio management of direct international real estate on behalf of an institutional investor. He moved on to manage the corporate real estate portfolio of a large company. Following this, Mr. Sohier headed the development and brokerage arm of a large Dutch international company.
In 1998 Mr. Sohier joined PGGM, the investment management company for now five Dutch Pension funds with a total of USD 200 billion of assets under management. Within PGGM, Mr. Sohier, among other things, has been responsible for the global real estate allocation and the tactical real estate portfolios (listed real estate securities) in the various regions around the world. He is currently Senior Portfolio Manager Private Real Estate and with his team responsible for the Americas. Mr. Sohier serves on a number of advisory committees and councils and is a past Chairman of AFIRE.
Mr. Sohier has a Doctorandus degree in economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a Masters from Georgia State University in Atlanta. He also holds a postgraduate degree in real estate investment (MRE) from the University of Amsterdam. Apart from this, Mr. Sohier is a chartered financial analyst (RBA) and a registered investment manager with the Dutch Securities Institute. He is also a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in the UK (MRICS).

 
Boris van der Gijp

Boris van der Gijp (1971) is Director of Strategy & Research. Together with his team he transforms trends, policies and market developments into effective real estate investment frameworks suitable for institutional investors.
Prior to joining Syntrus Achmea Real Estate & Finance in 2012 Boris van der Gijp was Director at ASR Real Estate Development responsible for renting & sales, strategy & research and marketing & communications. Due to his extensive experience with the various real estate markets, sustainability, risk management and research Boris van der Gijp is able to address institutional investors´ most important developments.

Boris van der Gijp is currently a Fellow at the Amsterdam School of Real Estate and Chairman of the Research & Education Committee at NRW (Dutch retailers association). He also is a member of the Strategy & Research Committee at IVBN (Dutch association of institutional real estate investors) and Assessor at RICS, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Boris van der Gijp earned a Master degree in Management & Organisation (MMO) from Tias Nimbas Business School in Tilburg in 2010, a Master degree in Real Estate (MRE) from the Amsterdam School of Real Estate in 2004 and a PhD in Economics from the University of Amsterdam in 1995.

 
Andy Watson

Andy Watson is Chief Investment Officer of LaSalle’s Continental European business. Based in Paris, Andy oversees all investment activities across Continental Europe and is responsible for investment performance as well as new business across the region. Prior to this, Andy was Managing Director of LaSalle’s Continental European business, having previously led both fund management and acquisitions teams since he joined LaSalle in May 2004.
Andy has over 25 years’ experience in real estate. After six years w
ith Weatherall, Green and Smith, including four in Frankfurt and Berlin, Andy has now lived and worked in Paris for over 20 years. In this time, he spent eight years at The Retail Consulting Group (RCG) where he was a founding partner in the Management Buyout of the French business. At RCG, he acted for the purchaser on Continental Europe’s largest shopping centre investment deals from 2000 to 2003 (Klepierre/Carrefour, Corio/Trema and Simon Property Group/Auchan).
Andy is a graduate of Oxford University with a degree in German and French Literature, and is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS). Andy has served on the MAPIC steering committee as well as the Awards Jury (exhibition and conference dedicated to retail real estate professionals).
 
André Zücker

André Zücker (40) is Managing Director of KGAL Investment Management GmbH, a 100% owned subsidiary of KGAL GmbH & Co. KG, since 01.03.2015. He is responsible for Real Estate at KGAL Group. He joined KGAL as Head of International Real Estate for UK and North America in 2008, and was leading KGAL’s efforts to introduce their first UK funds with a number of investments in London. 
André Zücker started his career as an architect at ATP AG – one of Europe’s leading integrated design and engineering offices in Europe. He then worked for a development company as Head of Development in Central Europe with a focus on retail properties including shopping centres. With a deep knowledge of the property market and the needs of investors, he got increasingly involved in the consulting of institutional investors regarding large investments in Germany in Austria. 
Zücker holds a Diploma in Architecture from Munich University oAS and a MBA in International Real Estate Management from HBC Hochschule Biberach, SBU London and Zürich Institute. He did further research in the field of Real Estate Investments with postgraduate programmes at Harvard University, Boston (US) and the European Retail Property School, Brussels.
