TRACKS

When planning the educational programming for INS 2014, the National Council on Education (NCOE) developed the following tracks, requested by past Annual Convention attendees through their evaluations, to address the needs of INS members and infusion nurses worldwide.

MONDAY: SUBSTANCE ABUSE TRACK
Substance abuse continues to be a challenge not only for patients, but among healthcare workers as well. From communicating with the patient with addictions to narcotic diversion by a colleague, this track will address these issues and how it can affect your daily practice.

TUESDAY: TECHNOLOGY TRACK
In this age of innovation, nurses must embrace and become comfortable with the ever-changing technology and its impact on health care. The track is designed to achieve just that. Sessions will address the ethical and legal considerations in the use of social media, how virtual medicine seeks to improve patient outcomes, and the value of smart pump technology within infusion nursing.

WEDNESDAY: CARING FOR THE CAREGIVER TRACK
The nursing profession places incredible demands and stress on those who practice it. From the long hours, to the ramifications of medical errors, to overall work-life balance, this track will provide you with the tools and guidance to help you take care of yourself so you can continue to care for others more effectively.

For more details about the individual sessions offered within each of these tracks, review the Schedule-at-a-Glance page.
