Adam Holt is the Owner & Creative Director of sparga, a graphic design firm in Des Moines. After graduating from Iowa State with a graphic design degree in 2002, Adam moved back home to start his career as a graphic designer. Having worked in advertising, marketing, and publishing, while continuing his hobby of screen printing posters in his basement, Adam was inspired to turn Sparga into a full-time operation three years ago. Since, Adam has worked with clients including Better Homes & Gardens, DIY Magazine, Anthology Magazine, and serves as the lead designer for The Des Moines Social Club. Adam is currently working on starting a new art and culture magazine, which focuses on under-publicized neighborhoods within the greater Des Moines area.

Adam will focus on the evolution of his career and discuss the best ways to gain new skills in order to expand a professional design portfolio. Topics will include screen printing, photo art direction, styling, how he invented his own job, and how he's found creative success in a once-sleepy Midwest town.
