Bio
Anita Marangoly George is the Director for Infrastructure and Natural Resources at IFC, the
private sector arm of the World Bank Group. Ms George joined the World Bank in 1991 as a
Young Professional and worked on infrastructure in Europe and Central Asia. She then moved to
Siemens and headed Siemens Financial Services in India covering the Telecom, Power and
Transportation sectors. In 2000 Ms George joined the Global Infrastructure Department of
IFC in Washington DC as Principal Investment Officer. She has implemented infrastructure
transactions in Latin America, Africa and Asia. Ms George has a dual Master’s degree in
Business Administration and Economic Policy from Boston University, US.
