2014 Assets Learning Conference

Working with Community Foundations to Build Assets

Wednesday, September 17, 2014
4-5 pm

Room: University of DC

More than 750 free-standing community foundations are rooted in and serving urban, suburban and rural communities in the United States. More and more of them are answering the call in the community foundation field to exert “community leadership” on critical issues, and to pull their donors into the action. Most focus significant grantmaking and program efforts on people, places and firms on the economic margins, but their staff and donors aren’t always aware of the most effective strategies or practices. Join several community foundation staff and experts in this discussion to find out good ways to approach, educate and work with community foundations as asset-building partners.

Facilitators

  • Bonnie Hildreth, Barry County Community Foundation
  • Wendy Merrick, West Central Initiative
