EYEQ2012: VET ideas worth sharing focused on innovative approaches to e-learning and capability building for quality teaching, learning and assessment practices in the VET sector.  This one day program had something of interest for all VET participants, both those new to the undstury and others looking to build on their existing knowledge and skills. 
 
  • The Honourable John-Paul Langbroek, Minister for Education, Training and Employment will provide the opening address
  • Ross Dawson will offer insights into the new frontiers of change impacting on the VET sector and examine the implications of skilling the VET workforce for the future as it strives to harness the opportunities provided by innovative technologies.
  • Dr Kate Andrews will present a keynote on knowledge retention and growth - how to get started and what to expect.  Kate will outline how organisations can capture, retain and grow the knowledge asset for the VET sector of the future.
  • A panel session featuring strategic Queensland VET leaders from the public, private and government VET sectors, will discuss the importance of valuing knowledge and developing VET workforce capability: foundations for a prosperous future. The panel will include Jodi Schmidt, the Acting Deputy Director-General for Training and Tertiary Education Queensland, Brad Deas, Director Blue Dog Training, Dr Christina Hong, Deputy Chief Executive Southbank Institute of Technology, Mike Wallace CEO First Impressions Resources.
  • A wide range of breakout sessions focussing on behaviour management, e-learning and technology innovations, the Australian Core Skills Framework and foundation skills, building capability in VET and more.
