Speaker
, Interim System Director

Description

In recent years, numerous changes in regulatory and financial arenas have dramatically affected the workload of case management professionals in the acute care hospital. The advent of present-on-admission, pay for performance, core measures, face-to-face requirements, recovery audit contractors (RACs), and readmission penalties have all contributed to increased tasks and the need for sharp expertise. Looming changes in health care reform have even further implications for case managers. Today's case management leader must be able to accurately and thoroughly understand the workload impact, and effectively communicate such effects.
