2019 Winter Biofilm Meeting

Biofilm Technologies: Pathways to Product Development
February 5-6, 2019
Hilton Crystal City Hotel, Arlington, Virginia

Registration Site

The Center for Biofilm Engineering is pleased to announce that registration is open for its annual regulatory meeting “Biofilm Technologies: Pathways to Product Development.”

Over the past decade, academic research advances and private company R&D efforts have led to the development of innovative anti-biofilm technologies with transformative potential in the consumer products and healthcare arenas. Likewise, advances in methods for studying and assessing biofilms have provided new insights into important biofilm characteristics such as why biofilms are difficult to kill and remove from surfaces.

The CBE is sponsoring this meeting for the sixth consecutive year in an effort to bring together representatives from industry, regulatory agencies, and academia to discuss biofilm-related technologies, research, and regulatory pathways. Presentations will correlate to products regulated by both EPA (surface disinfectants) and FDA (medical devices and implants). Session topics include:

• Antimicrobials and regulation
• Breast implant biofilms
• Medical device cleaning/reprocessing
• Biofilm detection
• Food-related biofilms

The two-day meeting will be held February 5th and 6th at the Hilton Crystal City Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. All events including breakfast, lunch, and coffee breaks will occur at the Hilton Crystal City Hotel.
