Real Estate Forum's Top Tech Enterprisers

Though commercial real estate is notorious for embracing technology late in the game, it’s been making significant strides over the past several years. Retailers are embracing tech concepts and tools to enhance the customer experience. Decades after adopting property management software, multifamily operators are not using smart technology to not only better manage their assets but also communicate and empower their residents. CRE brokers are also using a plethora of platforms and resources to improve their business prospects and markets their assets.

Indeed, the industry has come a long way from the days of meetings and mounds of paperwork it took to do business. There’s no doubt that CRE professionals and firms are integrating themselves into the world of technology, and are reaping the benefits of the tools, platforms, products and services available through technology.

Yet these advances would not have been possible without the forethought and ingenuity of tech-savvy individuals and companies who saw—and took advantage of—areas of improvement in the industry. CRE’s use of tech may have started with software to better manage properties and automate certain processes, but nowadays technology touches all aspects of commercial real estate, from space listings and HR operations to crowdfunding investment and financing to the newest innovation, blockchain technology to provide a more efficient and secure way of closing deals.

The massive leap commercial real estate has taken in embracing technology drove the editors of Real Estate Forum to highlight some of the most notable innovators across the commercial real estate spectrum. Over the past couple of decades, there are a number of individuals and companies that have made an unquestionable impact on the industry and how it does business. Be it through their platforms, tools or products, the investments they’re made that have allowed for these advances, or the best practices they’ve introduced to the business, these people and organizations have helped to shape their field and where technology is headed in the CRE industry.

In Forum’s upcoming November/December Outlook Issue, we will profile some of the Top Tech Enterprisers in Commercial Real Estate.

The issue will feature not only the must-have innovations in the field and some of the tools, services and products that will come in handy over the following months, but more importantly, the people and organizations behind them.
