Dr. Rochelle S. Michel joined ERB in 2018 as Executive Director of the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) program. Prior to joining ERB, Dr. Michel was Director of Research for higher education admissions within the Academic to Career Research Center at Educational Testing Service (ETS). In her role, she served as the research coordinator for the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) Program, managed the GRE Program’s research agenda, and served as the liaison between the GRE Program and the Research and Development areas. The GRE is the most widely accepted graduate admission test worldwide, which gives Dr. Michel a well-founded perspective on admissions as she leads our flagship admission testing program, the ISEE. In Rochelle’s most recent role and in other roles throughout her career working on national, large-scale assessment programs such as NAEP and i-Ready, Rochelle provided program direction by combining testing expertise, business acumen, and research skills. In addition, she was an Assistant Professor of Research and Evaluation Methodology at Florida International University. Dr. Michel began her career as a mathematics teacher and has extensive teaching experience in mathematics and statistics at the junior high school, high school, and college levels. She holds a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Stony Brook University, an M.A. in Mathematics Education from New York University, and a Ph.D. in Psychometrics from Fordham University.
