Listed below is an overview of opportunities.  We have provided the most current information at this time and will be updating as new information is available.  Once you read through the listings, checking to make sure you meet requirements, please click the Register Button located in the upper right-hand corner of this page to let us know what you'd like to be involved in and/or like more information on.  You are more than welcome to sign up for as many opportunities as you'd like.

Standardized Patient and Confederate Alumni Volunteers

CONHI alums are invited to apply to become volunteer standardized patients (SPs) or confederates, in learning and assessment simulations with students or healthcare professionals.

A standardized patient is a person trained to consistently portray a patient in a scripted scenario for the purposes of instruction, practice, or evaluation. A confederate is a term used to describe an embedded participant, like a family member, in a simulation.

Volunteer commitments vary depending upon the role and assignment.  For example, the commitment could be 4-8 hours per day once or twice a semester. A training time of 2-4 hours ahead of time per case can be expected.

If you are interested in learning more about becoming an SP or confederate alumni volunteer, please select this option to receive a follow up email with application details.
