  • Demonstrate the importance of centricity within the Piedmont Clinic through a robust referral and scheduling program in  conjunction with other Clinic initiatives, achieved through implementation of the ProviderMatch tool in your practice.

Workshop: A New Era at Piedmont: How Physicians Drive Clinical Care through Clinical Governance Councils
Presented by: Dr. Michele Johnson & Christopher Lloyd

Piedmont Healthcare has established its footprint in the state as the market leader for clinical quality and cost efficiency. The tremendous growth of Piedmont Healthcare across Georgia has created a significant need to scale the provision of high quality, lower cost care across all of its hospital regions and physician networks. To date, Piedmont has not established a well-organized, physician-led, clinical accountability model that maintains overarching oversight for clinical care provided at Piedmont. That day has come.
In this session, the presenters will help our members understand the market landscape of clinical governance within our Clinically Integrated Network (CIN), and specifically how it relates to their specialty within the Piedmont Healthcare System. Specific topics to be addressed include:

  • An overview of the Clinical Governance Councils
  • The burning platform, and sense of urgency to organize around clinical governance
  • What are Clinical Governance Councils; and why do mature, high performing CINs have them?
  • An overview of the first Councils to launch
  • Tactical examples of success from the Neurosciences Clinical Governance Council team.
