Abstract

In this full day lecture, the participant will learn not only the basic principles but also tips and tricks on how two achieve optimal pleasing esthetics in immediate implant treatment protocol. The session will be divided in two parts a lecture very interactive and the participants can discuss directly with the expert and the second one where the participants will have a hands-on to be familiar with current digital workflows.

A comprehensive approach to optimize functional and esthetic results with immediate implant placement and immediate restoration by blending surgical, technical, and restorative steps into one successful protocol will be presented thoroughly.

Immediate surgical and restorative protocols facilitate superior esthetic and functional success. However, strict guidelines for atraumatic intervention, implant primary stability, bone packing, connective tissue graft and preservation of existing anatomic structures must be carefully followed. Digital planning and workflows play a fundamental role to achieve such a desired result, precise aspect will be covered from the planning to the surgical templates all the way to tempshells.

Dr. Iñaki Gamborena received his dental degree from Universidad Odontológica Dominicana in 1989, a certificate in occlusion and temporomandibular disorders from the Mexican Association of Occlusal Reconstruction in 1990, and a certificate in restorative dentistry from the Autónoma Nuevo León University in México in 1992. He received his post-graduate Certificate in Prosthodontics and a Master of Science degree in Dentistry from the University of Washington in 1996, were he was awarded the Bolender contest award for clinical and academic excellence. In 1997, Dr. Gamborena received a certificate in oral and craniofacial implants from the University of Texas. Since 2001 he is an Affiliate Professor at the University of Washington, since 2007 Assistant Professor at the department of preventive and restorative sciences at the University of Pennsylvania and since 2009 Clinical Assistant Professor at the department of periodontics at Medical College of Georgia. He co-authored the book “EVOLUTION” I. with M.B. Blatz published with Quintessence 2014. His private practice in San Sebastián is dedicated to esthetics, restorative dentistry and implants.
