Title
Deputy Public Guardian (Scotland)
Company
Office of the Public Guardian
Bio
Debra joined the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) in January 2001 in the months immediately prior to the commencement of the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000 in the April of that year.

She has seen many changes over the years and is proud of the way OPG has grown and evolved during her time there.

Prior to that, Debra worked for many years with the Department of Work and Pensions most latterly in the area of technical training, learning and development.

Her interest in that area continues as she undertakes assessment and verification work in respect of Vocational Qualifications.

In her current role, as well as supporting the Public Guardian in the exercise of her statutory functions, Debra has responsibility for the Power of Attorney and Investigation teams, the Communication and Training team and for the IT systems within OPG.

In her leisure time, Debra is a fan of motocross racing and indeed owns a classic MX bike but does not profess to race it preferring that someone else takes the bumps and tumbles.
