Patricia studied law in Edinburgh and Oxford. After qualifying as a solicitor in Scotland she spent nearly 20 years in house working around the world for pharmaceutical companies. She served as General Counsel of two multinationals before returning to Scotland and setting up Bonaccord, a law firm specialising in the commercialisation of scientific innovation. The firm has won many awards including as UK Life Science Law firm of the Year and Scottish Food and Drink Law Firm of the Year. Patricia’s own work has been widely recognised and she was the first Scottish lawyer to be recognised with a fellowship of the American Bar Association. She is currently chair of the International Bar Association Healthcare and Life Science committee having previously chaired their Mediation Techniques sub committee. In addition to her legal work she conducts commercial mediation, teaches from time to time at various universities and is an active business mentor.
