Price: Members $75    Non-members $125    Student Members $37.50

Description: In order to provide outstanding dental care to patients, the oral healthcare team must take a holistic approach to the needs of the patient. The issue of polypharmacy must be taken into account as this points to complex medical issues. Patients that present with complex medical issues must be treated very carefully. In order to provide this care, there must be sufficient time at each appointment to discuss medications, health issues, treatment limitations, and expected outcomes.

Learning objectives:

  • Better understanding of the “clues” that certain medications give to the health of the patient
  • Better understanding of ways to generate communication in the clinical setting
  • Better understanding of the impact of certain medications as they pertain to oral health and treatment outcomes
