About the Event: CEO Breakfast - Disruption in the NFP Sector

Community Sector Disrupted

Society and business have been undergoing massive change over recent years, driven by technological advances, changes in consumer behaviour and a realisation that the current role and scope of government investment in our communities is not sustainable.

An ageing population, the prospect of increasing retirement age, changing traditional media consumption and new digital and social media powerhouses are all likely to continue to disrupt traditional target audiences and communication channels.

Last year's ABS figures show the rate of volunteering has decreased whilst the need for volunteers has continued to increase. Pressure on government grants, the move to individualised funding under programs such as the NDIS and ever increasing costs mean the sector will need to ensure it can diversify revenue sources and tap into volunteers in greater numbers if it is to remain sustainable and competitive.

This thought provoking discussion will look at the predictions of a number of Australian and international sources and consider if the future might also involve greater levels of co-operation and collaboration for the community sector.
