Smartcard Registration Glasgow

The Smartcard is a member benefit from the Society which provides a secure digital signature and acts as a professional I.D. recognised across Europe and the world. With it, members can offer a robust and reliable confirmation of credentials, helping reassure the public they are consulting a trusted legal advisor.

Before booking your Smartcard registration timeslot, please ensure you have sent us a completed application form and photo and have received a confirmation email.

You can obtain an application form by contacting us at smartcard@lawscot.org.uk.

Required documents and information on the day

The registration process should take less than a half hour to complete.

To receive your Smartcard on the day, you’ll need to provide the following in person at your timeslot:
  • A six digit pin number and an eight digit PUK number (can be alpha numeric, but are both case sensitive). These are numbers created by you - you’ll need to keep a record of them so we suggest making them memorable. If you lose your PUK number, you will need to repeat the Smartcard registration process in person to receive a new Smartcard.
  • Details of a business email address unique to you (i.e. not one shared with someone else).

At the registration event, you will also need to sign the Smartcard user contract.

If you have any questions, please  contact the Smartcard project team at smartcard@lawscot.org.uk or call 0131 476 8113
