Bio
Dave Valent is a former member of the Professional & Scientific Relations team within the Oral Care group at Procter and Gamble (P&G). He received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Health Education from the State University of New York and University of Maryland, respectively. He started his career as a teacher in Prince George’s County (Maryland) public schools where he taught for 9 years. He then took a position in the Clinical Research group at P&G’s Pharmaceutical division focusing on therapies to treat bone diseases resulting in several FDA approvals. During this time, he led the publication of numerous clinical research papers including 3 published in The New England Journal of Medicine. Dave went on to lead the P&G’s scientific education team in Geneva, Switzerland from 2000-2003. In 2008, he joined the Oral Care group with responsibilities for thought leader development, scientific exchange, professional education programs, internal technical training and interactions with dental and hygiene professional organizations. In 2017, Dave retired from P&G after more than 30 years of service.
