A clinical ethical approach to patient care recognizes that there is an ethical dimension present each and every time an oral health provider interacts with a patient. The principal focus of this interactive session will be discussion of challenging case scenarios. A framework for assessing the ethical dimension of care will be presented and a decision-making model used in facilitating the case discussions.
Objectives:
Recognize and describe the ethical dimension present in the clinical care of patients.
Understand the four-box model for identifying ethical issues in the clinical care of patients.
