If we rely on standard precautions, just how safe are we? Based on science, but grounded in clinical reality, this course reviews and updates OSHA-required training topics for ordinary and extraordinary situations, including general safety issues like physical and chemical risks, infectious disease transmission and control, hazard communication, and waste. Learn to manage the challenges of real risks such as aerosol-transmitted diseases.

Objectives:

Review important disease risks, prevention and post-exposure prophylaxis.

Learn updates on standard precautions, including safe injections and respiratory hygiene/cough etiquette.

Discuss waste management and environmental asepsis, including dental waterline management.

Review instrument and equipment sterilization.
