CPD for New Lawyers: Court of Session Special Procedure

The Law Society of Scotland and Ampersand have developed a programme of seminars to provide information and training for New Lawyers working in the area of litigation or who simply want to improve their legal skills. The CPD for New Lawyers programme is designed for trainees and New Lawyers up to two years PQE.

The Specialist Court of Session Procedure seminar is designed to build upon the Court of Session Ordinary Procedure seminar. In particular, the seminar will discuss the particular rules in Personal Injury Actions, Chapter 42A actions, Commercial Actions, Intellectual Property Action, Petition Procedure and Reclaiming Motions.

All CPD for New Lawyers seminars are presented by Ampersand
Advocates.


Learning objectives

By the end of the seminar you will:

· Be familiar of the practice and procedure of pursuing and defending
specialist actions in the Court of Session

· Be aware of the particular procedural
requirements and options available to you at any stage under the specialist
procedures

· Be able to manage your client’s case effectively
throughout its life-cycle
