Patients today, through magazines, web sites and other information channels, are more aware of the variety of treatment options to improve their function and appearance. It has therefore become more important for the implant dentists to promote their practices highlighting the ability to provide all of the available treatment options to attract more implant patients.

Traditional implant treatment methods required the edentulous and partially dentated patients to continue wearing a removable prosthesis during the healing period after dental implant placement. Today, with new techniques, technology and the surface coating biomaterials, it is possible to provide the patients with a fixed prosthesis immediately and by doing so, increasing patient comfort, confidence and over all satisfaction for their implant treatment.

Immediate loading represents for many clinicians the most challenging situation in implant dentistry. The information we have from the literature and different companies are sometimes in conflict with each other and this can be confusing. This course is devoted to dentists who want to learn and/or improve their knowledge about immediate loading. Immediate loading was defined as an implant put in function within 48 hours after its placement. This technique reduces the healing time and allows the patients to carry on with everyday functionality required of their teeth. There is no need to tolerate the inconvenience of temporary crowns while the bone is healing. Since the patient requires only one visit to have the procedure performed, there is a less amount of anxiety and stress involved.

The procedure has a lot of potential for you.  People are becoming more and more familiar with this new technique with the passage of time and its popularity is increasing with the number of success stories.

Learning Objectives:

· Understand the benefits and disadvantages of immediate loading

· Understand the key factors to obtain success with immediate loading procedures

· Gain knowledge of new surgical and prosthetic principles to enhance clinical outcomes for the implant patient when treated with immediate loading

· Be able to incorporate this information into their daily practices when managing their implant cases

· The clinician will be able to differentiate when immediate loading is feasible in the fully edentulous patient, partially dentated and patients missing a single tooth

Who Should Attend:

·General Practitioners
