Susanne Aigner is the Deputy Director of the Compliance and Facilitation at the WCO, where she is responsible for issues like the SAFE Framework, Air Cargo Security, Globally Networked Customs, the WCO Data Model, the Revised Kyoto Convention and WTO Trade Facilitation Negotiations.
Having worked at the Austrian Ministry of Finance in Vienna for several years, she joined the European Commission to work on international customs matters and customs legislation, most recently as Acting Head of the Risk Management and Security Unit in DG Taxation and Customs Union. At the EU, Susanne was extensively involved in the development and implementation of EU customs policy and legislation, including the Modernized Customs Code, the Common Risk Management Framework and the Authorized Economic Operator system.
